Although DUCAA was founded in 1994, it had no activities until 2017. In 2017, the Department of Chemistry, DU, took the initiative to arrange a get together of Chemistry graduates of DU at Curzon Hall Lawn in front of Chemistry Department. More than 700 alumni of Chemistry were gathered in that program from home and abroad. The announcement for the formation of DUCAA was declared from that big gathering on April 15, 2017 and an adhoc committee was formed as: Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar, President, Prof. Dr. M. Emran Quayum, Secretary and Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam as Treasurer and they were empowered to edit a draft constitution of DUCAA by the end of December, 2017.
