The aims and objectives of DUCAA are to
a. Create a platform for strengthening social and professional contact amongst
the alumni and the parent department to facilitate the mutual exchange of
knowledge and experience;
b. Provide opportunities to the alumni to support the parent department in its
academic activities by (i) collecting funds, which can be used to improve
teaching-learning and research facilities of the department, and providing
financial support to meritorious and needy students; (ii) arranging analytical
investigations in advanced laboratories and procurement of literature to
support research by faculty members of the department;
c. Offer research grants or research fellowships to the department in accordance with
with an appropriate procedure;
d. Give awards for achievements by alumni members as well as students of the
department;
e. Arrange a seminar/symposium/conference in the department with a resource
persons from the alumni and their co-workers;
f. Help young faculty members and fresh graduates of the department looking for
for opportunities of higher studies in advanced countries;
g. Invite alumni living abroad to deliver a seminar talk on the recent development of
chemistry or their own specialization;
h. Arrange a summer or winter seminar on a special topic by the alumni living
abroad;
i. Provide support to alumni in their professional fields through training,
counseling, and bargaining with employers when needed;
j. Provide financial or medical assistance to alumni in distress;
k. Undertake any other activity decided by the Executive Committee or the
Association which is in the spirit of the overall well-being of the alumni;
